There is nothing wrong with making your kids go outside. TV, video games and cell phones are making kids dumb and its been proven. Give them the tools they need to do fun stuff outside and make sure they are staying safe. Let them hang out with friends outside but yes make them go outside. It teaches kids about nature and gives them grit. My parents made us go outside and here I am at 47. Yes traumatized by other shit but not from going outdoors. Parents are too soft these days.

I like using the weeds from the Star of Bethlehem plant that grow in my front yard to make little baskets they're nice and long and tubular shaped perfect for basket making 😊.

Hi - Glad to see a young adult encouraging parents toward a better choice glue i.e. 'compostable glue' option. I am a preschool teacher and believe the first rule of thumb should be to teach young children about the 'impact' our consumption choices have for future generations. If the current generation feel agrieved about the state of the planet, then they need to made their concerns with their concumption choices and behaviours. An example is that it is fashionable to be 'getting children out in nature' .... so they learn to value it but nobody seems to make the connection with then washing their clothes in heavy toxic washing powders that harm our waterways. Brand companies sell this concept to parents and most don't make the link. Anyway .... welldone for pushing an option that once was the go to only a couple of generations ago.

Another way to say it: place a blanket under a tree and shake the crap out of it to make all its habitants fall on the blanket for your kids to watch 😂

I'm new to homeschooling and I'm a member of a group that get together down at the local river so the kids can hang out n play but I'd love to bring something to the group and a simple but fun nature crafts activity would be perfect. Nature boats sound like amazing fun!!! Anything that needs a hot glue gun is out of the question as there's no power. But there r some great ideas here! 😁 Dreamcatchers!!! Supple sticks n string, some leaves, unless we actually find some feathers and hey presto!!! Ooh we're gonna have some fun!!

I've used double stick tape with paper collages and white glue and water.

my main question is what do you do with the mud pies and such when they are done? some mud objects would probably be able to be repurposed, i suppose, but I wouldn't expect all of them to be. Genuinely curious, I would love to make one of these areas for my kids!
